I did it!

YAY!
This is a picture of me. In all my sweaty, nappy-haired glory after finishing the 2008 chicago marathon! I am really happy with the way it went. After getting tendonitis in mid August, I had to stop training all together. I hadn't run more than 13 miles, and hadn't done ANYTHING in a month when I crossed the start line yesterday. I went into it thinking, I need to be careful with my leg so I don't permanently injure myself, so I will only run 3 miles or so and get out. But then, after running about 5, I was thinking, hey, I feel pretty good. I'll run a little more. And then I felt a twinge in my leg again, so started walking. And then, round about mile 8, I thought, HEY. I want to finish this thing. I want to FINISH it.
And I said, "Lord. I want to finish this. Give me a miracle please."
And he said, "Let's do it girl."
So we did it. He and I. I walked a lot, ran some and crossed the finish line.
And I'm gonna do it all over again next year. :)

It's my party and I will cry if I want to!
My darling girl is already a year old and I just can't fathom the phenomenon of how life just keeps getting better and faster. I guess the saying is true, time flies when you are having fun. I long for the time when we reunite. It seems like we should be planning another reunion. I miss you all so much.

Bong - My cat is not my child. I will not be posting cute and funny things that he does. I'm sure I couldn't get his fat ass into a single picture frame anyway.
